The air is cool and fast, moving over and through me as we speed along the dirt trail. Emily, a five year veteran guide at the lodge says she has a present for me. When we pull up, I don’t see them straight away; their tan coats blend with the dry terrain.

Obscuring the Camera Obscura

Robert Canali is presenting work as part of two exhibitions coinciding with this year’s FIAC festival. These are his first exhibitions in Paris. YIA (Young International Artists) Art Fair showcases 25 artists under 30 years of
age. Appartement will also host some of Rob’s work. 18 – 21 October.

A Closeness

The baboons yell, warning their symbiotic mates, the impala, against encroaching predators. The long limbed and skittish impala and the squirrely and dexterous baboon seem an unlikely set of friends.

Boys Don’t Cry

On October 4, 2012, I trekked to Manhattan’s far West Side for the opening reception of Boys Don’t Cry, a debut of Baang and Burne’s three newest additions. Boys Don’t Cry features Joseph Cultice, Chris Jehly and Rich Tu, three visual artists working with different mediums and very different aesthetics.

SWEETEST TABOO

Serein – serene – is a great name for river. It runs leisurely through deep Burgundy and Noyers, one of the medieval villages along its banks, is regularly voted one of the most beautiful spots in France: all limestone, lime trees and freshly-painted volets.
